The Short Answer
Radiesse® is a calcium hydroxylapatite injectable implant that provides immediate correction and can stimulate collagen. It may be selected to restore or refine facial volume when the product’s approved indication, tissue characteristics and your anatomy align. It is not a hyaluronic-acid filler and is not dissolved with hyaluronidase.
Candidacy
Adults seeking measured volume restoration or contour refinement may be candidates after an in-person medical and anatomic assessment. Good candidates have realistic goals and understand that product choice, amount and placement differ by facial region.
Treatment may be postponed for active skin or dental infection, inflammation near the treatment area, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or uncontrolled medical conditions. Severe allergies, bleeding risk, immune-modifying medicines, prior filler and planned dental work must be discussed. Product-specific contraindications apply.

Your Visit
The provider reviews history, examines facial proportions and discusses alternatives and emergency risks.
The skin is cleansed and treatment landmarks are planned. Product is placed in small amounts using a needle or cannula as appropriate.
The area is reassessed for symmetry and circulation. You receive written aftercare and urgent warning signs.
Informed Choice
Common effects include swelling, tenderness, bruising, redness, firmness, lumps or asymmetry. Rare injection into a blood vessel can cause skin injury, scarring, stroke, vision changes or blindness. Delayed inflammation, infection, nodules and product migration can occur. Some complications may be permanent.
Clinical Judgment
Safe filler treatment depends on detailed knowledge of facial vessels, tissue planes and product behavior. Experienced providers use conservative planning, maintain an emergency protocol and know when not to inject—or when referral or surgery is the better option.

Consultation and treatment are in-office. Telehealth may be used for general education, but product selection and injections require an in-person examination.

Common Questions
Many hyaluronic-acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, but reversal is a medical treatment with its own risks and may not restore the exact pre-treatment appearance. Non-HA fillers are not dissolved the same way.
There is no safe universal amount. Your anatomy, product, area, previous filler and desired endpoint determine whether treatment is conservative, staged or not recommended.
Severe or unusual pain, blanching or dusky skin, a cool area, vision change, weakness, severe headache or stroke-like symptoms require immediate medical attention.
